“Twilight” Actor Embarks on Celebrity Trip to Israel
Kellan Lutz, one of the stars of the Twilight vampire saga, has joined other celebrities on a weeklong exploration of Israel. Lutz, along with Miguel Ferrer (Dr. Garret Marcy on Crossing Jordon), Cuban singer Didier Hernandez, and Columbian singer Carolina la O will visit historical and religious sites throughout the country.

“This is my second trip to Israel. The only downside of coming to Israel is that as soon as you get here, you realize how much more there is to see in such a short time, so I’ll definitely be back. I’m amazed at the scope of history here. In the US, there is 200 years of history and here we are talking about thousands of years of stories and tradition that truly fascinate and amaze me,” Lutz said.

“It's clear that Israel is a nation of good and warm people. It's remarkable how different the reality of this country is from what one hears about it. I can definitely commit myself to being an ambassador of truth for the State of Israel, and offer positive messages on behalf of the people of Israel and Jerusalem,” said Ferrer.

The celebrity tour is part of the "America’s Voice in Israel" program, in essence, Birthright for media and entertainment personalities. The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations, and El Al Israel Airlines also sponsor the trip.

As part of the itinerary, the group will also meet with the Israeli press, government officials, and members of Israel’s film industry.
