Karen Suffern is the wonderful mother of twin 9-year olds, Ryan and Amber. She recently discovered a letter written by her son, Ryan, addressed to Santa Claus, asking him to help his sister, Amber, who is being bullied at school. Karen was so moved by the letter that she decided to share it with some friends online to bring attention to elementary school bullying issues. The result has been inspiring, with the Suffern family receiving invitations to visit ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘Dr. Phil’, the twins' seeing a change in behaviour from kids at Amber’s school, and getting a response from ‘Big Time Rush’ star, Stephen Kramer Glickman.

“Dear Santa,” Ryan begins in his letter. “I wanted a (remote control) car and helicopter, but I don’t want that anymor. Kid at school are still picking on Amber and its not fair… I prayed that they will stop but god is bisy and needs your help.”

“Can you ask Big Time Rush to come to Amber’s B-day party(?) It will make her so happy. If you can’t get them to come … just get her everything she ask for,” he continues.

‘Big Time Rush’s’ Glickman was so moved by the letter that he decided to respond and take action.

“When I saw this, it hit me and I was like I gotta get in touch with this family and try to reach out to these kids,” he said.

Glickman understands the effects of being bullied.

“Kids were terrible to me when I was in school… The big thing that happened was I had my bar mitzvah and when I had my bar mitzvah, kids thought that I was having a party and that I wasn’t inviting people to my party so because of that I started getting beat up in the locker room — just being savagely beat up by kids in school.”

Glickman recorded a video and set it to CNN iReport for Ryan and Amber. He tells them to remember the friends they have now, and hints that they should expect a special surprise from the ‘Big Time Rush’ band.

“I can’t give too much information, but I can say this. I think Christmas might come early this year,” Glickman said in the video.

While Ryan and Amber wait patiently for their early Christmas gift, they are seeing positive changes in school. Karen shares that Ryan came home from school, announcing “mommy, I have new friends,” adding “Other people said they’re going to help look out for Amber too, and make sure they don’t mess with her. I thought that was so sweet.”
