Tech mogul Apple is planning on improving its already impressive presence in Israel by expanding the facility of its headquarters in Herzliya. According to a report which was put out by the Hebrew magazine The Marker Wednesday, Apple will be expanding the facility’s second building by over 4,000 meters.

With the exception of its main campus in Cupertino, California, Israel’s facilities are the largest Apple campus in the world. Currently 700 Israelis work for the company, many of them as engineers, but the increase in size means that anywhere from 150 to 250 additional employees will be added to the company roster.

Apple first expanded to Israel back in 2013, but it’s been growing exponentially since then. In addition to their buildings in Herzliya, they also have a facility in Haifa and one in Raanana.

When the Herzliya campus first opened, the facilities were 12,500 meters large with an option to expand the second building on site if there was a need. But now that the second building is nearly at full capacity, and as Apple is obviously set on growing as large as possible - watch out, Google - they’ve decided to expand.

Given the company’s presence in the country, current CEO Tim Cook visited Israel back in February. While there, Cook stressed the importance of Apple’s activities in Israel and showed his support for the country.

Although people were wondering why Apple was so heavily focused on its expansion to Israel, it became apparent only two weeks ago when Apple’s purchase of LinX, a company which specializes in camera equipment and technologies for mobile devices, was made public. The deal is reported to have cost Apple almost $20 million.

Currently, Apple says the building undergoing construction will be functional by the end of September.
