At the beginning of December, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro visited the Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT) for a private demonstration of several ground-breaking technologies developed by students at the institution as well as an important meeting about cooperation between American companies and JCT.

"The Jerusalem College of Technology is unique in that it has a diverse mix of students including new immigrants from France and Ethiopia and the Ultra-Orthodox. Every student, regardless of background, is given the support they need to learn and grow," explained JCT President Dr. Chaim Sukenik.

"It was thrilling for us to be able to show the Ambassador what our diverse student body can produce and how their JCT-powered technologies will change the world."

The Ambassador was impressed by the student presentations, including an advanced warning security system and an artificial intelligence system that assists individuals with autism, and spoke about the importance of U.S.-based companies developing ties with Israeli academic institutions like JCT.

"The US Embassy in Israel encourages American companies to invest in Israel, and it is clear that the Jerusalem College of Technology would be a very sound investment," said Ambassador Shapiro.

“A portion of the JCT students did not have the necessary tools to succeed in their studies when they began their studies at the institution. But here, they have been given the opportunities to develop the necessary skills and integrate into the world of technology, academics, and the army. I am thrilled to encourage cooperation and to advance technological and social initiatives with JCT.”

Dr. Sukenik echoed the importance of collaboration explaining that the U.S. Embassy could facilitate numerous ventures and advance many technological innovations that would benefit America, Israel, and the world at large.
