OY! The New App That Lets You Complain To All Your Friends
Giving you three simple ways to kvetch about whatever's bothering you
By: Daniel Koren
Back in July, we interviewed Israeli-born Moshe Hogeg, CEO and founder of Yo! an app which, in Hogeg's words, allows you to "basically communicate by sending each other messages that says nothing."
At that point, the app - which started off as a joke - had garnered over a million users.
Now, in similar style, a company has launched another app which uses the same exact letters, but, when reversed, grouped with an entirely different implication, and one that all of us Jews can surely relate to - Oy!
That's right, there's officially now an app that lets you kvetch and bitch about whatever's bothering you, graced with the tagline "Misery Loves Community."
As per the app's website:
Exasperated? Irritated? Downright angry? Don’t let it get to you. Let it out! Share an “OY!” and a laugh with your friends. Because sometimes that’s all you need.
Indeed.
Oy!, a single-purpose app, lets you communicate in three ways:
1. Just say Oy!
2. OY! the news!
3. Share your OY! (meaning you can Oy! while sharing your own unique message that actually uses, you know, words).
With Hanukkah coming up soon, and with stressful parties to plan and gifts to buy, the app was launched right on time, and should provide a fun way for you and your friends to complain about your mother's kugel, your bad Jdate experience, or how you hate it that your best friend is making twice the salary you are.
So what are you waiting for? "Rally your community with a collective cry of OY! and spread the word because MISERY LOVES COMMUNITY."
Get it here.
