Simon Cowell Is Being Harassed on Twitter Over His Donation to the IDF

The British reality show judge's Twitter account has been plastered with photos of dead children in Gaza

Last October, infamous British reality show judge Simon Cowell attended an event hosted by businessman Haim Saban and organized by Friends of the IDF, during which he donated $150,000 to the Israel Defense Forces.

He even reportedly joined Saban in a singing of the theme song from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

The event was able to raise approximately NIS 70 million ($20 million) to fund educational initiatives for IDF soldiers and also to help out their families.

Now, months later, pro-Palestinian activists and Twitter users have learned of Cowell's donation after he posted it to the X-Factor's Facebook page, and have taken to Twitter to condemn him, many of whom bringing up the fact that One Direction's Zayn Malik - the group are signed to Cowell's label, Syco Records - recently tweeted #FreePalestine, for which he received several death threats online.

While the comments are harsh, they are nowhere as gruesome as what was being plastered onto Cowell's Twitter wall: photos of dead Gazan children, accompanied by captions that accused him of supporting murder.

Others suggested that Cowell was simply trying to "impress" his "Jewish girlfriend" (and mother of his child) Lauren Silverman.

Most of the graphic images have been deleted, but the Twitter war wages on.

While Cowell is Christian, his father was the son of a Jewish refugee from Poland, which apparently "thrilled" the television personality when he learned of it in 2005.
