Reports: Google to Launch Android TV
Leaked documents reveal that Google's long-awaited set-top box will be on the market soon

Talks of a Google set-top box have been making the rounds for several months now, heightened after they purchased Green Throttle Games, which develops blue-tooth controllers that will reportedly help implement gaming into the device.
Now, reports have leaked via the Verge that indeed confirm Google's intention to release what is being referred to as Android TV, suspiciously just days after Amazon revealed Fire TV.
While this news is taking the Internet by storm, it really shouldn't; we all knew that Chromecast (a $35 stick which lets you stream online videos from your tablet/smartphone on your television) wasn't their only plan for taking over the set-top box market.
Android TV will reportedly provide easy access to movies, TV shows, music, and gaming. "Access to content should be simple and magical," the reports stated. The service will likely come along with a controller (also similar to Amazon's Fire TV).
“Android TV is an entertainment interface, not a computing platform,” revealed Google in the leaked docs. “It’s all about finding and enjoying content with the least amount of friction.”
The documents add that it will be "cinematic, fun, fluid, and fast."
This would mean that you no longer would have to use several streaming devices (Netfix, Hulu Plus, etc) but have it all conveniently packaged via one service.
After all, Google is all about convenience.
Essentially, Android TV will look to make television into one large tablet/device which is very easy to use, like one giant Android phone. The interface looks somewhat similar to Microsoft's Xbox Live (see above).
Expect more to come out on this shortly. It's certainly an exciting time for TV enthusiasts.
