Kevin Hart teams up with Waze's 'Celebrity Voices'

Ever since Waze had been purchased by the search giant Google, everyone has been expecting to see what aces does the Israeli startup have up its sleeve and what will become of the GPS application.

Many thought Google will devour Waze, but for now it has decided to keep Waze as a standalone service. It seems to be, obviously a brilliant idea, with Waze now pairing up with Universal Studios to bring its 40 million worldwide users cool celebrity navigation voices.

The new celebrity voices feature will allow you to switch from the old and somewhat monotone man and woman generic voices. Imagine you could be directed to your destination (using Waze, as this feature already exists in other apps) by Mike Myers, Ryan Gosling, or the mysterious and beautiful Angelina Jolie.

The first voice launched is that of comedian Kevin Hart, who is currently promoting his latest film, Ride Along. Hart came to Universal Studios and contributed his voice to the Israeli app with great enthusiasm. Although it is currently unknown which other celebrity voices will be featured in the application, you can assume it will be those of the stars from Universal’s upcoming films (which includes Ted 2, Fast & Furious 7, Dumb & Dumber To, and more).

I know I wouldn't mind being guided by Harry Christmas to this Thursday's Thanksgivukkah dinner..or, actually, I think I'd prefer to drive the voice of Mila Kunis.

If you are looking for some entertainment to accompany your morning drive, just update (or install) the latest version of Waze and enter settings and then audio. From there look for voice navigation and then choose Kevin Hart’s voice.

Ultimately a nice, comical feature, and a possible profit model for Waze.
