Intel, the world's largest maker of high valued semiconductor technology chips, has been making headlines recently as they try to make up for their late foray into the world of tablets and high technology.

Just yesterday the hardware processing gurus announced an investment in E La Carte, an electronic firm that designs tablets for restaurants. More and restaurants these days, particularly posh, trendy ones, are ditching the traditional 'pen and pad' method of taking orders in favor of a tablet system which allows servers to type in your order and send it straight to the Chefs in the back of the house before even leaving your table.

Talk about service.

Another wave of headlines that have catapulted Intel back to hightech sensationalism regards their newly designed chip processers that are being used in the new models of Samsung tablets.

In order to develop the chip processor, Intel teamed up with various leaders from "Startup Nation" - Israel's increasingly popular nickname due to their excellence in the hightech field. Joined by over 100 Jerusalem-based researchers and developers, lead by the Design Manager for Intel Israel's Cloverview team, Aviad Hevrony, the team helped Intel come up with a new design chip that would be ideal for lightweight standard tablets, and help Samsung regain much of the tablet market that currently belongs to Apple.

Last week, Samsung released its ATIV line (an upgrade over the Cloverview line) of tablets and gadgets that run Android applications, and are powered by the new Intel chip. It's the thinnest tablet in the world powered by Windows 8.

The Israeli research team believes that the strength of the new processing chip will help Samsung become a formidable adversary in the realm of hightech gadgets, and will send consumers flocking to the South Korean based company once they familiarize themselves with their new products.

The Samsung ATIV tablet, built out of plastic and glass, weighs in at 572 grams, over 100 grams lighter than the Windows Surface RT. Analysts have been full of praise regarding the tablet's speed and processing unit so far.

With the new ATIV, Samsung may have achieved its finest tablet yet, presenting accolades to Hevrony's Jerusalem-based Intel processing team. According to Hevrony, Samsung chose the Intel chip his team worked on over chips from Qualcomm and Marvel, which are used in a multitude of tablets and smartphones.

Intel Jerusalem currently employs 600 workers across several departments.
