El Al Launches New Innovative Bidding System for Empty Seats

New Upgrades Offered to Passengers Make Flying to Israel a Breeze

Always on the lookout for ways to improve their customers’ comfort and in-air experiences, El Al Airlines has come up with a new advent in the airline industry, allowing its passengers an opportunity to actually bid for upgrades to business class. But, not stopping there, El Al has gone one better and will now even let passengers bid on empty seats beside them, to assure that you have your own quiet space for the whole trip. And let’s face it, how many times have we, forced to sit for a 12-hour flight next to a crying infant, talkative salesman, or the winner of the world’s loudest snorer competition, wished for a row of our own?

Not only is it a brilliant marketing concept, it also an efficient new way to try to make money from unused seats, while also making the flight much more enjoyable as passengers can make sure that they have all three seats in a row at a massive discounted price.

All the passenger has to do is submit decide on how much you want to offer for the upgrade, based on your own considerations and on the range of prices that varies for each destination.

About 30 hours before flight time – or 48 hours before flight time if there is an intervening Saturday or holiday – you will receive an email informing you whether or not your offer was accepted.

If you were not upgraded, you will not be charged!

So, imagine, a nice relaxing flight to Israel without having to get up every half hour to let someone else empty their bladders.

El Al continues to be on the cusp of terrific, innovative ways to enhance the flight experience, and for that, and the extra legroom, I say “todah!”
